Sean Morrissey
Chairman and CEO of GE Money Bank, Czech Republic Sean Morrissey has over 20 years’ experience in the banking/financial services industry and, since 2008, he has successfully led Budapest Bank through the financial crisis. Sean Morrissey joined GE in April 2000 and has worked in various leadership roles within GE Money and GE Capital and has vast consumer and commercial lending experience, including running multiple businesses in GE. Before joining Budapest Bank, he was CEO of GE Money’s German bank and CEO of GE Money’s Danish business. Prior to GE, Sean Morrissey held senior roles in commercial lending including responsibility for all Ford’s Fleet & Daily Rental activities in the UK, establishing an auto/consumer lending business, heading a financial services marketing team and key operations, sales & general management roles. |

Christoph GlaserChief Distribution Officer
He joined GE in 1997 in the European Manager Development Programme. From 1999, he held the position of Executive Audit Manager in GE Corporate Audit. During his more than 10-year career at GE, he has gathered much experience in many world markets – he has worked, for example, in Germany, USA, Russia, UK, and Japan. From December 2004, he worked as the CFO of GE Money Bank, a.s., and since February 2009, he has held the newly created position of the Chief Distribution Officer. Since 2005, he has also been a member of the Management Board of GE Money Bank, a.s.
Mathias ThielenChief Financial Officer He started his career with GE in 1998. During 12 years of work for corporation he gained lots of international experiences. In Paris and Munich he worked in an M&A / Integration. In the year 2000 he was promoted to the Corporate Audit Staff focusing on GE Capital Financial Audits and M&A activities and gained working experience in Asia, the US, Australia and multiple European countries. After four years Mathias moved to the US and worked for 3 years in the former GE Money Headquarters, where he was in charge of global capital allocation. In 2007 Mathias was promoted to Chief Finance Officer & Managing Director of GE Money Bank AG Switzerland and he became CFO of the GE Money in Prague in July 2011.
Brett BelcherChief Risk Officer He launched his career in the USA, where he worked for 7 years at an authority for business oversight. He came to the Czech Republic in 1997 as the Vice-President of Citigroup for Risk Analysis and Management. Then he advanced to the position of Risk Manager for Personal Banking in the Czech Republic. Before joining GE, Brett worked for Raiffeisenbank for two years, as the Director for Risk for the Czech Republic. He also helped Raiffeisen implement risk management in personal banking in Ukraine. In 2006, he began working for one of GE’s financial divisions as a risk manager for personal banking in the Central and East European region. Since 1 September 2007, he has been the Chief Risk Officer of GE Money Bank, a.s., and since December 2007 also a member of the Management Board.
Ram RajaramChief IT Officer Over the course of his career, he has held various leadership roles with responsibilities ranging from organizational development, enterprise wide software implementation, relationship management and project management. He has worked in several leading Information Technology companies, such as Siebel Systems, Lotus Development and Sybase. Prior to joining GE Money, Ram was the CIO at GE Commercial Distribution Finance, based in Hoffman Estates, USA. Since November 1st, 2010, he has held the position of the Chief Information Officer of GE Money Bank. He attended the State university of New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. |
Jiří BáčaChief Commercial Banking Officer and member of the Management Board When he joined GE Money Bank, he brought with him ample experience, both from retail banking and from commercial banking. He has been working in this line of business for fifteen years. He started his banking carrier in Komerční banka, where he held various positions, both in retail as well as in commercial banking. He then spent five years in HVB Bank, where he held increasingly responsible positions, including the position of the Head of Commercial Clients’ Division. In 2005, he left for the Management Board of Citibank. As Sales and Distribution Manager, he was responsible both for the retail and for the SME distribution. After a short stay in the Ukraine, where he worked for PPF Financial Group, he returned to Prague and became the CEO of mBank. Starting from October 5, 2009, he is the Chief Commercial Banking Officer and member of the Management Board of GE Money Bank, a.s.
Tomáš ČernýChief Legal & Compliance Officer Before joining GE Money Bank, Tomáš Černý worked at the Prague office of the international law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges for five years. There, he focused primarily on commercial law, banking, and mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Tomáš worked at the Deloitte & Touche consulting company for two years, and at the international law firm Clifford Chance. From April 2005, he was the Chief Legal Officer at GE Money Bank, a. s., and since February 2009 he has been the Chief Legal & Compliance Officer.
Jarmila PlacháChief Marketing & Communication Officer Jarmila Plachá came to GE Money Bank from the Erste Financial Group, where she has held various senior positions over the last 6 years. As well as holding the post of Director of Corporate Marketing and Sponsoring, she was also the Chairwoman of the Česká Spořitelna Foundation Board of Trustees and later the Director of Advertising and Promotion. Jarmila Plachá also has experience from development and management programmes abroad, working, for example, at the Erste Group’s Head Office in Vienna, as well as in Singapore. On January 2011 she was appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer.
Thomas B. DoddChief Internal Audit Officer Before joining GE, he worked in Dubai for seven years, where he was responsible for bank inspections carried out for the central bank of the United Arab Emirates. Before that, between 1996 and 1999, he worked as an independent project manager and consultant for a number of companies. Among others, he also worked for the Czech companies Expandia Finance and Expandia a. s. In May 2007, he assumed the position of Senior Internal Audit Manager at GE Money Bank, a. s.
Radka PekelskáChief HR Officer Radka Pekelská joined GE Money as Chief HR Officer on June 1st 2010. She has been the HR Director for Tesco in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. She has over ten years HR experience with Tesco and has been instrumental in driving growth in this very competitive industry. Tesco has over 200 stores in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and approximately 23,000 employees. In addition to leading the HR function at Tesco Radka has led change programmes within the company, resulting in improved results in employer brand image as well as reduced employee turnover.
Michael AugustinChief Operations Officer He has worked at GE Money Bank in various positions since 2003, including management of the Customer Service Centre. Prior to joining GE Money, Michael Augustin worked as Project and Business Manager at ACOL and Porcus. He has been the Manager of the GE Money Bank Customer Service Centre in Ostrava since 2007, where he currently has 850 employees. Under his management the Customer Service Centre in Ostrava has become one of the best employers in North Moravia. |
